Responsible Gaming

Version: 1.0  |  Last Updated: 31 August 2026

At Sombrero Spins, we believe that gambling should be an enjoyable and entertaining activity. We are deeply committed to providing a safe, fair, and responsible gaming environment for all our players. This Responsible Gaming Policy (“Policy”) outlines our commitment to player welfare, the tools and resources available to help you stay in control, and the support organisations you can turn to if gambling ever stops being fun.

This Policy should be read alongside our Terms & Conditions and Privacy Policy.

1. Our Commitment

1.1 Responsible Gaming as a Priority

Sombrero Spins takes its duty of care to players seriously. We are committed to implementing industry-leading responsible gaming standards and to continuously reviewing and improving our player protection measures. Our goal is to ensure that gambling remains a pleasurable leisure activity and never a source of financial, emotional, or social harm.

1.2 Core Principles

Our responsible gaming programme is built on the following core principles:

  • Prevention: We proactively implement measures to prevent the development of problem gambling;
  • Awareness: We provide clear information to players about the risks of gambling and the tools available to manage it;
  • Intervention: We monitor player behaviour for signs of potential harm and take proactive steps where appropriate;
  • Support: We signpost players to professional support services and make it easy to seek help;
  • Protection of Vulnerable Persons: We take stringent measures to prevent underage gambling and protect individuals who may be at risk.

1.3 Staff Training

All members of our customer support team receive regular training in identifying and responding to signs of problem gambling. Our team is equipped to have sensitive, non-judgemental conversations with players who may be experiencing gambling-related difficulties.

2. Recognising Problem Gambling

2.1 What Is Problem Gambling?

Problem gambling is characterised by a persistent and recurrent pattern of gambling behaviour that leads to significant distress or impairment. It can affect anyone, regardless of age, background, or income level. Early recognition is key to accessing effective support.

2.2 Self-Assessment Checklist

Ask yourself the following questions honestly. If you answer “yes” to two or more of the following, you may benefit from speaking to a support professional:

  1. Do you find yourself spending more money or time gambling than you originally intended?
  2. Have you tried to reduce or stop gambling, but found it difficult to do so?
  3. Do you gamble to escape from stress, anxiety, depression, or other emotional difficulties?
  4. Have you borrowed money, sold possessions, or otherwise struggled financially as a result of gambling?
  5. Do you find yourself preoccupied with gambling — planning your next session or thinking about past gambling activity?
  6. Have you ever lied to family members, friends, or others about how much you gamble or how much money you have spent?
  7. Has gambling caused arguments, conflict, or tension in your personal or professional relationships?
  8. Do you feel restless, irritable, or anxious when you are not able to gamble or when you try to cut back?
  9. Have you experienced feelings of guilt, shame, or regret after a gambling session?
  10. Have you chased your losses — that is, returned to gambling shortly after a loss in an attempt to win back the money you lost?

If you are concerned about your gambling behaviour, please do not hesitate to use the tools in your Account or contact our support team at [email protected]. You can also contact any of the organisations listed in Section 6 of this Policy.

3. Player Protection Tools

3.1 Overview

Sombrero Spins provides a comprehensive suite of tools to help you manage your gambling activity responsibly. All tools are available within your Account settings under the “Responsible Gaming” section, or by contacting our Customer Support team at [email protected].

3.2 Deposit Limits

You can set a maximum deposit limit on a daily, weekly, or monthly basis. Once a limit is set, deposits exceeding the defined threshold will be declined. Requests to decrease a deposit limit take effect immediately. Requests to increase a deposit limit are subject to a mandatory 24-hour cooling-off period before taking effect.

3.3 Loss Limits

Loss limits allow you to set a maximum amount you are willing to lose within a defined period (daily, weekly, or monthly). Once your loss limit is reached, further real-money gameplay will be suspended for the remainder of the applicable period. As with deposit limits, reductions take immediate effect, while increases are subject to a 24-hour review period.

3.4 Session Time Limits & Reality Checks

You can set a maximum session duration after which you will be automatically logged out of the Platform. Additionally, you can activate Reality Check notifications, which provide periodic on-screen reminders of how long you have been playing and how much you have wagered during the current session. These reminders prompt you to pause and consider whether you wish to continue.

3.5 Wagering Limits

You may set a maximum total wagering amount per defined period (daily, weekly, or monthly), helping you to stay within a pre-determined budget regardless of individual game outcomes.

3.6 Cooling-Off Period

A Cooling-Off Period allows you to take a short-term break from gambling on the Platform for a period of your choosing, typically ranging from 24 hours to 6 weeks. During a Cooling-Off Period, you will not be able to log in and place real-money bets, and we will suspend all marketing communications to you. A Cooling-Off Period cannot be cancelled or reversed before its expiry.

3.7 Self-Exclusion

Self-Exclusion is a longer-term measure that allows you to voluntarily exclude yourself from the Platform for a minimum period of 6 months, up to a maximum of 5 years or on a permanent basis. To request Self-Exclusion:

  • Use the Self-Exclusion tool in your Account settings; or
  • Contact our Customer Support team at [email protected] requesting Self-Exclusion.

Self-Exclusion will be actioned within 24 hours of your request. During this period, you will not be able to log in, deposit, or place bets. We will close your Account, return any withdrawable Real Money Balance, and suppress all marketing communications. Self-Exclusion is irrevocable during the elected period. Players who wish to self-exclude across multiple operators are encouraged to register with GAMSTOP (see Section 6).

3.8 Account Closure

If you wish to close your Account permanently, you may do so at any time by contacting our support team. Please refer to Section 4.3 of our Terms & Conditions for further information.

4. Tips for Responsible Gambling

We encourage all players to adopt the following practices to ensure that gambling remains a safe and enjoyable activity:

  • Set a budget and stick to it. Only gamble with money you can afford to lose. Treat your gambling spend as a leisure expense, just like a cinema ticket or a meal out.
  • Set time limits. Decide in advance how long you will play and stop when your time is up, regardless of whether you are winning or losing.
  • Never chase losses. Trying to recover losses by increasing your bets or playing for longer rarely works and often makes the situation worse.
  • Gambling is not a source of income. No gambling strategy can guarantee consistent winnings. All Games are based on chance.
  • Do not gamble under the influence. Alcohol, recreational drugs, or strong emotions can impair your judgement and lead to decisions you may later regret.
  • Take regular breaks. Step away from the Platform periodically to maintain perspective and avoid fatigue-driven decisions.
  • Balance gambling with other activities. Ensure gambling remains just one of many leisure activities and does not take precedence over work, relationships, or responsibilities.
  • Seek help early. If you notice any warning signs of problem gambling, act promptly. Early intervention is more effective than waiting until problems escalate.

5. Protection of Minors

5.1 Age Verification

Sombrero Spins operates a strict minimum age policy of 18 years. We implement robust age verification procedures at the point of registration and during the KYC process to prevent underage individuals from accessing our Platform. We reserve the right to request proof of age at any time and to suspend Accounts pending satisfactory verification.

5.2 Parental Controls

If you share a device with minors or are concerned about a young person accessing gambling websites, we strongly recommend using parental control or content filtering software. The following tools can help block access to gambling websites:

In addition to software solutions, we recommend keeping Account login details secure and ensuring that minors do not have unsupervised access to devices on which gambling websites are logged in.

5.3 Reporting Underage Gambling

If you suspect that a minor has registered or is using an Account on our Platform, please report this immediately to [email protected]. We will investigate promptly and take all necessary steps to address the matter, including closure of the Account and return of any deposited funds.
